We will have at least 4 sewing opportunities for you. The main project will be to make a sewing pad for under your sewing machine.
Supplies needed are 2 pieces of contrasting colors of cotton fabric that are 24” X 24”. Also needed is a piece of batting that is 24” X 24”. Or you can buy a piece from me for $4.00. Now some of you have told me you already have a sewing pad. No problem. Then we will go on to project #2.
#2 project is a community service project of making fabric bookmarks for a local library. For this you will need strips of cute, colorful, kid fabric measured 2 ½” wide. The book- marks will be 7” long but you can cut longer stripes of fabric then cut when you actually make the bookmarks. Pinking shears are needed to finish the edges so bring them if you have them. I purchased a rotary cutter blade that looks like pinking shears. I have ordered those rotary blades from The Social Box but as of today they have not arrived. If they do arrive, they are $4 or $5 each. I ordered 10. You will also need narrow ribbon that you have on hand. The middle can be a stiff interfacing or file cabinets cut 6” long and 1 ¼” wide.
#3: I will bring pre cut fabric to make a kid quilt top to give to the Linus Project. You might like to bring your quarter inch foot for this.
#4: Bring what you want to sew.
Always bring your sewing machine and sewing supplies.
