Sylvia has volunteered to show us how to make a water bottle carrier that helps to keep the water cold. Here is the pattern, although be aware of the changes she has made to the pattern. It would be very helpful to cut out the pattern before coming on Friday.

From Sylvia:
What you need:
- -3 fat quarters of fabric, one for outer fabric and one for inner lining and one for pockets
- -cut fusible interfacing same size as pocket
- -For STRAP: 57" by 4" of fabric, plus 56" x 2"of additional thin stiff interfacing if quilting cotton weight is used for strap - ALTERNATIVE: 57" of 1"-wide webbing
- -2 D-rings, 2 swivel clasps + adjustable strap slider - all 1" inner width
- -2 pieces fusible fleece, 22" by 20"
- -20" of round elastic cord
- -1 cord lock piece
- -velco to match outer pocket
- -the usual: sewing machine, thread
- -scissors or rotary cutter and a cutting mat
- Iron and mat for ironing on the interfacing
For this pattern add to the MAIN piece, 1 inch to the left, to the right side, and to the bottom before cutting the fabric
See photo1. Print your own patterns and draw on the extra changes needed.
- Cut one outer fabric and 1 lining fabric.
- Cut 2 fusible interfacing pieces as well and fuse them onto the outer fabric and lining fabric for class.
REMEMBER TO ADD 1 INCH TO BOTH SIDES AND THE BOTTOM BUT NOT THE TOP.
Photo 1 -

For the casing, cut 2 with outer fabric and 2 with lining fabric. Stitch right sides together at the short sides flip out and iron, leaves no raw edge sides and then iron the fold flat. NO fusible interfacing needed here.

Make your tabs....Watch the video or their instructions.
...Cut OUTER FABRIC AND INTERFACING 2 INCHES BY 2 INCHES.
Use fusible interfacing on these 2 pieces.
For pockets:
- Cut 2 outer fabric squares 6 1/2" x 6 1/2"
- Cut 2 lining fabric squares 6 1/2" x 6 1/2"
- Add fusible interfacing to all the pocket pieces.
- Velcro needed for the top length of one pocket
Sew the pocket pieces right sides together and leave a small opening to flip right side out.
These 2 pockets are centered on the bag and top stitched down.
We can make all the rest at guild and if you miss you now have the video and instructions to make one. I have enlarged it as the original was way too tight.
...The link to watch the video and print the pattern and supplies list is here...
This may look complicated, but it really is pretty straight forward.
This would be a good time to share snacks with each other.
See you Friday.

For this water bottle carrier, we will be using Pellon 809 Decor Bond fusible interfacing on everything, we will not be using any fusible fleece.
So, if the video shows fusible fleece or the instructions below, make a note to use the pellon 809 decor bond fusible interfacing.
Any questions I'm happy to help, text, or email.
Original free printable pattern was too tight, so I made the one change to add the extra inches.
Plus, pockets.
