Hi Everyone!
In case you did not have an opportunity to log into the bi-monthly chapter-wide Zoom meeting, below you will find a link to the recording. Susan Maunder presented her art of Smocking.
Smocking can be traced back to Medieval times when it was used by peasants to fit garments. Smocking allowed for easier repurposing when garment was passed to a different person. Later in Victorian times it was used more frequently as decoration for garments. This continues to this day. Susan Maunder has been smocking as a decorative art since 1993. She provided an introduction to smocking and different ways smocking can be used.
