There are two project options for this meeting, the 'The Three Pocket Bag' and 'Merlene's Bag of Squares'. Pick a project and read over the instructions so you are familiar with them. Bring your traveling machine and bring your fabrics and all the notions you need.

Subject: Useful Info for Our Bags
Yesterday I completed the second bag for our agenda on the 28th.
On the Merlene Bag:
A 6" square pattern produces a bag 15" wide by 12" high. This can give you a gauge as the square size you choose. The B and C fabrics are the dominant fabrics (color/pattern) seen. The bottom of the bag is the A fabric. The top edge which is on the bias (D fabric) will need stabilization. One can use twill tape or the leftover selvage from your fabric. Note for the 6" square you will need 30++ inches. D rings, large snaps, zipper and welting may be notions you want to consider. Not to mention lining fabric.
The "Envelope Bag:"
The edging can be either binding or larger scale piping. Can be larger than 18" but Square! My bag finished at 8" square. Drapery fabric wonderful for project. Can self quilt if you want. I used fusible fleece. The placement of the Velcro is the challenging part. Notions you may want to think about are snaps and buttons. Not to mention the type of edging you want.
Both of these projects call for accuracy. You will pat yourself on the back to choose your size and cut the squares you want before the meeting so you can just jump right in and start sewing.
This will be a fun meeting including a couple Mini Presentations. We are going to be longer time wise. Bring a sandwich and snacks.
Hope this info gives you a heads up for the 28th.
